FALL

SUNDAY             MONDAY             TUESDAY            WEDNESDAY             THURSDAY             FRIDAY             SATURDAY

The fall is the best time to get your lawn back into shape, install a new lawn or to maintain the beautiful lawn you already have! The longer your lawn looks green in the fall months, the better your lawn will look next spring!

Seeding ~ Any seeding, over-seeding or other lawn renovation should be done by the end of September for best fall result.  Do not wait until spring to seed.  You cannot put down any weed or crabgrass control if you seed in spring and will end up with a lawn full of weeds.

Core Aeration ~ Core Aeration can be done to reduce soil compaction or to prepare lawn for over-seeding.  Nothing grows in compacted soil.

Fertilization ~ The best time for fertilization and weed control because of cooler temperatures, more rain and grass is growing again.

Turf Insect Control ~ White grubs may be present in September and October and chemical control may be needed.

Dethatching ~ Thatch more than ½ inch needs to be removed.  A good way to tell if you need dethatching is if it feels thick like a carpet when you walk on it.

Do not wait until spring to seed your lawn. If you wait until the springtime, you cannot put down any weed killer or crabgrass control. You could end up with a spring lawn full of weeds and crabgrass! Fall is the better choice to seed!
